The First 30 Days
This initial period is crucial for any applied film to fully bond with your vehicle. Any significant interaction with the film during this time could potentially shorten its service life, so extra care is needed to avoid disrupting the curing process.
General Information
- Small bubbles and haze are normal during the curing process and should resolve within 30 days
- Movement, which includes lifting and bubbling around areas of high vibration, is normal and can easily be rectified
- Because the film isn’t fully cured, any rough handling or overexposure to moisture can easily cause failures in film adhesion
Recommendations
- Do not wash in the first five days after installation
- Always test any cleaning product on an inconspicuous area first
- Only hand wash using a two-bucket method or use a touchless snow-foam wash
- Clean off aggressive contaminants ASAP using pH neutral cleaners
- Always use a soft-touch microfiber cloth or a non-abrasive sponge
- When using a pressure cleaner, avoid using a concentrated jet and take care not to aim directly at any wrapped points or edges
- Rinse off any cleaners before they dry
- Gentle pat-dry
- Park indoors or undercover whenever practical to do so

Now that the film has had time to bond with your vehicle surface, it’s important to make final rectifications to any film movement during the first 30 days. At this point, the film should be fully cured and should be stable on the surface it has been installed to.
General Information
- Adhesive strength becomes semi-permanent, needing high heat and force to remove the film
- Bubbles and haze should have resolved
- Any mechanical friction can still lift and tear vinyl and PPF, especially around edges or at sharp points and corners.
- Any contaminants that stay on your vinyl or PPF for too long will seep into the material and cause irreparable damage.
Recommendations
- Wash your car every 1-2 weeks, depending on how dirty it gets
- Immediately remove aggressive contaminants
- Vinyl safe waterless wash can be used in between washes to help maintain cleanliness
- Use the same two-bucket or snow-foam cleaning method as you did during the first 30 days
- Consider a ceramic coat to enhance the performance and service life of your vinyl
- Spray-on ceramic products can help protect your vinyl and/or enhance any coating already on your vehicle
